I am a Public Artist living and working in Leeds.
I am presently occupied by the idea of communication and interaction. I like to open up the idea of speaking to strangers and creating new experiences between members of the public. I feel that we live in a society that ‘keeps itself to itself’ with the growing popularity of iPods, mobile Internet and laptops introducing a culture of distraction and removal from social engagement.
I hope to approach this attitude with a friendly and inquisitive nature that will encourage the revival of the open and welcoming civilization.
I am often inspired by everything I see and experience around me such as colour, nature, people, poetry, reading, texture and theatre. Words and reading in particular are very important to my work and myself, and I enjoy experimenting and playing with language.
Learning is so important to me and I thrive in an environment where I can reflect and have the time to consider work and the working process.
